I be fishing Lake Erie since I was 6 years old and have never seen it any better than April 2010. The weather has been very good with mostly south winds that have turned these spawing walleye into a complete frenzy. We caught over 80 walleyes in the last two days, with walleyes mostly around 22 inch average. We fished mostly in 14 - 17 feet of water and used purple hair jigs tipped with lake Shiners and some are being caught without any bait. The smallmouth bass are starting to show up, however there are too many walleyes spawning to catch these vigorous fighters.
